Healthier Apple Crisp

Looking for a simple and delicious dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth? This apple crisp recipe provides a healthier alternative to traditional desserts with its use of natural sweeteners and whole food ingredients.

Ingredients:

Apple Filling:

  • 1 apple

  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Topping:

  • ¼ cup oats

  • 1 Tbsp. milled flax seed or flour

  • 1-2 tsp brown sugar

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • ⅛ tsp nutmeg

  • 1.5 Tbsp. ghee or grass-fed butter (room temperature)

    Instructions:

  1. Cube apples and add to a small glass or ceramic baking container

  2. Mix in the maple syrup and cinnamon.

  3. Combine all of the dry toppings and mix.

  4. Stir in the ghee or butter.

  5. Put the fully combined topping on top of the apple filling.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes!

  7. Let cool for 20 minutes then enjoy!
